Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Announces the 2017 Parade Grand Marshals

 

(Waterloo Region, ON – October 4, 2017) – Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is pleased to announce the Parade Grand Marshals for the 2017 Thanksgiving Day Parade!

This year’s Parade Grand Marshals are author and TV Star DAVID CHILTON and Celebrity Chef and Author GRETA PODLESKI.

David Chilton is the author of Canada’s all-time best-selling book The Wealthy Barber and the sequel The Wealthy Barber Returns and is a former co-star of the CBC hit TV Show Dragon’s Den. Through his expertise David has helped take the intimidation out of financial planning for millions of Canadians. For those that have seen David Chilton speak, they know his speeches are not just about money; they’re about believing in yourself, overcoming mistakes and most importantly, they’re about perspective which is the missing ingredient in many people’s financial lives. David proudly spends much of his time in Kitchener-Waterloo and Sarnia.

Greta Podleski is one half of the sister act that wrote the best-selling cookbooks, Looneyspoons, Crazy Plates and Eat, Shrink and Be Merry! Along with her sister, Janet, Greta is a monthly columnist for Canada’s number-one-magazine, Reader’s Digest and was voted to Canada’s Top 40 under 40 in 2000. The sisters have also expanded from self-publishers to being featured on dozens of national TV programs such as the Today Show, CNN, Canada AM and QVC, as well as hundreds of radio stations and in magazines and newspapers across North America. Greta’s love for cooking started as a child when she received an Easy-Bake Oven, by the age of 12 she was preparing 3 course meals for her 5 older sisters and her parents. Her latest culinary creation “Yum & Yummer: Ridiculously tasty recipes that’ll blow your mind, but not your diet” hits bookstore shelves on October10th.

David and Greta will appear in the Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade on Monday, October 9th beginning at 8:30am. If you miss it live, you can catch the CTV broadcast starting at 12 noon.
