Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest’s $3000 Hidden Treasure Discovered in Hillside Park, Waterloo

(Waterloo Region, ON – October 10, 2017) – For days Kitchener-Waterloo treasure hunters have been scouring the area for a hidden key worth $3,000! The key unlocks King Ludwig’s Treasure Chest and the annual search for the loot is one of the highlights of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest.

Festival organizers have announced today that the key to the valuable treasure chest was found this morning, Tuesday October 10, under a bridge on one of the trails in Hillside Park. Congratulations to Ellie Nahls who found the key with the help of her sister Lindsey and family friend Daniel Stark who will share King Ludwig’s $3000 treasure!

Since September 25th, thousands of treasure hunters, have been following a trail of clues given each weekday by Country 106.7 FM and the Waterloo Region Record. These clues led our team of winners to Hillside Park in Waterloo, where they found the clue and followed the instructions to claim their prize.

The Treasure Hunt is sponsored by Country 106.7, the Waterloo Region Record, Sobeys, UPS, Manulife Bank, Conestoga College and the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Official Retail Store.
