What You Should Know About Festhallen
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest consists of authentic Festhallen located throughout the Kitchener- Waterloo region, and all have one thing in common, they have what it takes to make Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Wunderbar.
Whether traditional or unique, all offer great music, dancing, entertainment and are licensed by the AGCO. Traditional mouth watering snacks and dinners are available and all Festhallen are monitored to ensure the surroundings are clean and friendly, and the food and entertainment are excellent.
No minors permitted in halls except on Family Days.
What is a Festhalle?
Festhallen are where the core of activities and festivities can be found. These Bavarian decorated buildings or tents have a capacity from 250 to 3,400 people! The five German Clubs are very popular but all Festhallen must meet certain criteria such as offering award winning oompah bands, Bavarian dancers, and of course, mouth watering cuisine. Tickets for Festhallen are sold in advance... Early planning is important! Each Festhalle is uniquely different, catering to the young and the "young at heart".
The Province of Ontario has enacted a no smoking law for all public facilities.
Guaranteed Arrival Time (GAT) is one of the most important guidelines for our success in accommodating so many people. We try and make room for everyone to join the party! Be on time...advance ticket holders have a specific period of time (GAT) that they are allowed to enter once the many Festhallen open. People who have not purchased advance tickets often wait in line to gain admission, and after the Guaranteed Arrival Time, if the hall is not full to capacity, they are allowed to enter. Any pre-sold tickets are still honoured after the GAT, but now you must join the admittance line. Times vary daily.
Dress Code - Be Comfortable. Proper footwear is a must everywhere! Most Festhallen are casual.
Direct any inquiries about these venues to the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest office.
